KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange gained some points till midday but remained in negative zone as benchmark KSE 100-share index lost 87.27 points to drop to 34249.20 points level.
The market recorded the highest trading level of 34359.05 points and lowest level of 34168.35 points, with the total volume of 49,333,130 shares, having Rs2,860,314,780 value. Out of total 258 companies, 113 were up, 131 were down and 13 remained unchanged.
The three top traded companies were Sui South Gas with a volume of 12,235,500 and price per share of 40.35 (-1.10), Sui North Gas with a volume 7,150,500 of price per share of 32.36 (-0.28), TRG Pak Ltd with a volume 5,169,500 of price per share of 41.86 (0.14).
The top three advancers were Pace (Pak) Ltd. with price per share 2.98 (-.54) and 28136000 shares; PTCLA with price per share of 18.57 (-.63) and 11539500 shares; and DGK CementXD share of 52.3 (0.53) and 8783500.
The top three decliners were Pak Services with price per share of 151.84 (0) and 100 shares volume, Bata (Pak) Limited with price per share of 1460 (40.67) and 100 shares volume, and Bhanero Tex.XD per share of 125 (0) and 100 shares volume.
Earlier, the KSE 100-share index started with negative note and shed 157.07 points to drop to 34179.40 points level, with the total volume of 24,775,250 shares.
On Monday, the KSE 100-share index fell by 90.28 points, or 0.26 percent, after profit-taking in blue chip and the index settled at 34336.47 points level. Traded volume declined by 33pc to 219m shares while traded value also decreased up by 37pc to Rs8b/ $76m. Major activity was seen in stocks of Sui South Gas, K-Electric and Descon Oxychem with volume 30.7m shares, 26.5m shares and 22.7m shares respectively.
