PCA detects Rs 3.6m evasion by M/s Ahmed Medix, M/s Naz International

KARACHI: The Directorate of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) has detected tax evasion to the tune of Rs 3.5 million by M/s Ahmed Medix by illegally availing benefits of customs concessions on import of LED lights.

According to the sources, the PCA while making scrutiny/audit of import data found that M/s Ahmed Medix had imported LED lights, and cleared the same from Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West.

However, the Federal Board of Revenue has clarified that benefits of Fifth Schedule is for renewable energy technologies for LEDs with or without ballast with fittings.

In this regard, the importer M/s Ahmed Medix has been directed to pay the short-paid taxes and duties at the earliest.

Meanwhile, PCA also detected tax evasion of Rs 100,000 by M/s Naz International through illegally availing benefits of customs concessions on import of LED lights

In this regard, according to sources, the importer M/s Naz International has also been directed to pay the short-paid taxes and duties at the earliest.
