Customs Court hears 32 cases on Tuesday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 32 important cases on Tuesday and issued necessary orders and directions in number of cases.

On Tuesday, 32 cases of different types were scheduled for hearing, including five pre-arrest bail pleas of accused persons identified as Abdul Qayyum, Muhammad Attique, Shaukat Ali, Muzafar Ali and Fiaz Hussain.

Judge Malik Ameer Muhammad after hearing arguments of different parties issued orders on bail pleas and disposes of a number of pleas, while some pleas were adjourned till new dates.

The court also accepted bail plea of an accused against cash guarantees. Customs Court also adjourned many cases of smuggling.

The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were also scheduled for the day. The court also proceeded on statements and witnesses on four different cases on the day.
