KARACHI: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Thursday remanded an employee of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to seven-day custody of the Pakistan Customs in a case pertaining to the smuggling of cellular phones and foreign liquor.
Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi granted the seven-day remand of Fida Hussain for interrogation on the request of the Pakistan Customs’ officer.
According to the official sources, the staff of Model Customs Collectorate Preventive recovered 1,264 cellular phones and 10 bottles of foreign liquor from the possession of PIA’s employee at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi on Wednesday.
Fida was taken into custody and an FIR was registered against him.
