LAHORE: Supreme Court of Pakistan rejected the bail application of alleged drug smuggler, Ghulam Murtaza and sent him to jail.
Yesterday, two members bench under the supervision of Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhary heard the case of drug smuggler, where the counsel for suspect argued that police has registered fake case against his client.
He added that Murtaza is a shopkeeper and has no links with the drug smuggling, besides asking the court to accept his bail application.
On other side Additional Prosecutor General Mazahar Sher Awan replied that the police had arrested the suspect red-handed and recovered two kilograms cocaine from his possession.
After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court has rejected the bail application of suspect.
