Customs Court hears 31 cases on Tuesday, including smuggling, narcotics

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 31 important cases on Tuesday and issued necessary orders and directions in number of cases.

On Tuesday, 31 cases of different types were scheduled for hearing, including pre-arrest bail pleas of accused persons, Shaukat Ali, Muzafar Ali Muhammad Faisal, Tahir Islam, nayer Iqbal and Fiaz Hussain. Judge Malik Ameer Muhammad after hearing arguments of different parties issued orders on bail pleas and disposes of a number of pleas while some adjourned for new dates.

The court also accepted bail pleas of two accused against cash guarantees. Customs Court also adjourned many cases of smuggling. The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, from Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Faisalabad, were also scheduled for the day. The court also proceeded on statements and witnesses on four different cases on the day.
