Faisalabad Customs confiscates 402 kgs smuggled cloth

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs intelligence has confiscated 402 kilograms smuggled cloth worth Rs 360,000.

Sources told Customs Today that the intelligence staff received information through Additional Director Azmat Tahira about the smuggling of imported cloth.

Following the information the intelligence team raided near Motorway toll plaza Sargodha road Faisalabad and arrested Rai Muhammad Iqbal and Wheed ullah. After inquiring the legal proofs of cloth, accused failed to produce the same.

With law contravention of section 2(s) 16 and 18 of the custom act 1969 and 3(1) 3 (3) of import and exports control act 1950 punishable under section 156(1)89 of the customs act 1969, the Customs authorities have lodged a case against accused and started investigation.
