LAHORE: Kashif Zia, the owner of a famous Pakistani cosmetics brand Bio Amla, has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) for bail. He has not been appearing in court since his bail plea was rejected by the Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling. Kashif Zia is allegedly involved in tax evasion of Rs 1.3 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Kashif Zia has moved LHC for bail which will be scheduled for hearing soon.

While on the other hand, the Customs Court will issue a notice for his presence in the court during the next hearing and if he failed to appear in court then he may be declared as a proclaimed offender.

Earlier, last month owner of Bio Amla Cosmetics fled from court premises after the Customs Court rejected his bail plea.

Customs team registered a case against him last year when they found him involved in tax evasion. He was showing his sales record very low as compared to the original sales record.

During the hearing of the case in Customs Court, the FBR investigation team also submitted evidences of his involvement in tax evasion.
