LAHORE: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) on Monday strongly rejected the statement published in a section of press levelling ‘baseless allegations’ against its Chief Executive SM Muneer.
The TDAP, in a statement here, clarified that its basic function was to promote the trade by facilitating exporters of the country and SM Muneer was taking part in trade promotional activities as per the mandate of the authority to ensure positive trend in exports from Pakistan.

“Therefore, these promotional activities cannot be termed interference in the affairs of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI),” the TDAP statement said.
The false impression was being given that TDAP chief was acting against the orders of honourable Islamabad High Court, it added.
It may be mentioned that the IHC do not restrict the official / trade promotional activities of TDAP chief defined in TDAP act.
Moreover, TDAP and its chief have been held responsible for the decrease of exports of Pakistan by ignoring the fact that international recession is the major factor of the decline of exports.
The exports of China, India, Japan etc. have also witnessed negative trends like exports of Pakistan during the same period, it added.
