Sindh Excise recovers 250kg charas, arrests 13 persons

KARACHI: During the on going drive against drug dealers, 13 suspects have been arrested while 250 kilograms of charas and 700 liters illicit liquor recovered from their possession. Two vehicles have also been impounded.

On the directives of Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Gyanchand Essrani, a special drive against drug manufacturers and dealers is in full swing all over Sindh.

A team headed by Director Excise Karachi Karachi Amir Jameel raided Malir area of Karachi and arrested a suspect and recovered 100 kilograms of charas from him while in other raids three more suspects were arrested and charas and illicit liquor were recovered from their possession.

In Sukkur Division near Obaro, a truck was spotted and 80 kilograms of charas was recovered and two accused were arrested while in district Sanghar and Kandyaro two accused were arrested and more than 170 liters illicit liquor was recovered. One accused was arrested in Thatta and another was arrested in Hyderabad 265 illicit liquor was recovered. Raids were also conducted in districts Jacobabad and Shaheed Benazirabad and two accused were arrested while hundreds illicit liquor recovred from their possession.

Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Gyanchand Essrani lauded the efforts of the excise department and expressed his commitment that he would continue his efforts to make Sindh a free province from drugs.
