PESHAWAR: Customs Peshawar under the supervision of Collector Qurban Ali has achieved its half yearly revenue collection target of the current financial year up to December by collecting Rs 10178.96 million as compared to Rs 9579.02 million of the previous year last six month in 2014.
As per the statistics of Customs Collectorate Peshawar, only in head of customs duty collected Rs 3925.47 million up to December 2015 in the last six month as compare to Rs 3157.07 million of up to December 2014. The difference in rupees was recorded Rs 768.40 million while the difference in percentage was recorded 24.34 percent.
The net collection figure in head of custom duty is Rs 3685.09 million as compare to the previous year Rs 2891.79 million. The difference in net figure is Rs 793.30 million while the difference in percentage is 27.43 percent.
In head of sales tax on import the bureau collected Rs 2484.98 million as compare to the previous year Rs 2742.81 million while difference in rupees was recorded minus Rs 257.83 million while the difference in percentage was recorded minus 9.40 percent.
The net collection in head of sale tax on imports is Rs 2484.39 million against the previous year of Rs 2891.79 million. The net difference recorded was minus Rs 256.95 million while the net difference in percentage was minus 9.37 percent.
In head of sale tax levied as federal excise duty vat mode palm oil was Rs 1189.12 million collected against the previous year six month collection of Rs 1598.47 million. The difference in rupees is minus Rs 409.35 million while the difference in percentage is minus 25.61 percent.
In head of sale tax value addition on commercial importers in last six month up to December was recorded Rs 385.22 million against the previous year Rs 357.56 million. The difference in rupees is Rs 27.56 million while the difference in percentage is 7.74 percent.
Likewise federal excise duty on import is Rs 122.62 million against the previous year collection of Rs 128.35 million. The difference between the collections in rupees was recorded minus Rs 5.73 million while the difference in percentage was -4.46 percent.
In term of withholding tax the bureau collected Rs 2071.55 million against the previous year collection of Rs 1594.76 million. The difference in rupees between the two year collections in rupees is Rs 476.79 million while the difference in percentage was 29.90 percent.
The performance of Customs Peshawar improved as compare to the previous years and with the passage of time it will further improve after improving the road condition via Torkham border. Besides this the custom intelligence has also tightened the noose around the neck of smugglers.
