Adjudication issues final notice to Ayyan Ali for appearance

ISLAMABAD: Collector Customs Adjudication Ali Raza has issued a final notice to super model Ayyan Ali, asking her to appear personally or through her counsel in the court. In case she fails to appear before the Adjudication, it will hold expatriate proceedings against her.

Sources told Customs Today that the Adjudication will announce the verdict in Ayyan Ali case in the first week of February. Sources said that the Customs Adjudication issued many notices to Ayyan Ali, asking her to appear but she failed to submit any reply in her defence.

Sources said that according to rules customs adjudication is bound to announce a verdict in case within 120 days  but due to non cooperation of Ayyan Ali this case is pending in customs adjudication for 150 days.  Ayyan Ali and her legal advisers are not giving any importance to this case.

Sources said that customs adjudication reserves the authority to order confiscation of $5 million and impose heavy fine on her.
