Customs Court releases suspect involved vehicle smuggling on bail

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Friday accepted post-arrest bail plea of a suspect in a vehicle smuggling case.

According to the details, accused Shahwanaz Khan was nabbed by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation from Faisalabad after finding his vehicle, Toyota Fielder, non-duty paid. The officials registered a case against him under Section 89, and 156 of Pakistan Customs act 1969.

The officials presented him before the Customs Court, where the special judge sent him on physical remand and later sent him to jail on judicial remand.

On Friday, Special Judge Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan approved his bail plea against surety bonds of Rs 1 million and personal guarantee as well.
