KARACHI: Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, in collaboration with Frontier Corps, has seized foreign currency equal to Rs 0.5 million and 10 laptops during a crackdown near Quetta.
Sources told Customs Today that a joint team of the Customs and FC raided a house and recovered UK pounds, US dollars and 10 smuggled laptops and arrested and a suspect from the scene.
Sources said that during a recently held meeting customs authorities and FC adopted a joint strategy to curb smuggling in the region and for this purpose they divided Quetta region into three divisions. Different teams are deputed to check the smuggling round the clock.
