The delegation has arrived in Tehran on the verge of sanctions relief in order to conduct certain economic and political negotiations and is scheduled to visit various state and private sectors.

According to the team’s announced schedule, Schroeder is to meet Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani on Monday.

Gerhard Schroeder will also hold talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif.

The 27-member group is mostly made up of representatives from German companies and the country’s economic sector.

The visit marks an increase in foreign firms vying over Iran’s lucrative market after the termination of Western sanctions in accordance with the JCPOA.

In the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year, the country’s export to Germany reached 25,414,582 kilograms worth 214,829,018 dollars while Iran’s imports for the European country in the same period added up to 363,227,471 kilograms with a total value of 1,274,897,666 dollars.
