FBR recovers Rs 1.7m sales tax from Al-Riaz Foundry

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has recovered Rs 1.7 million from Al-Riaz Foundry under the head of sales tax. The foundry is located in Gulbai area. The Regional Tax Office-II has also issued a notice to M/s. Anum Textile which is allegedly involved in tax evasion.

Additional Commissioner Regional Tax Office-II Mujahid Rana told Customs Today that Al-Riaz Foundry was involved in tax evasion amounting to Rs 2.2 million. The RTO issued them many reminders, asking them to clear their outstanding taxes but the company always avoided to pay taxes. The RTO then decided to declare the company as “blacklisted”.
