LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office-I and II (RTO-I&II) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) are gathering data of businessmen who have not filed their tax returns despite having taxable income.
According to details, FBR Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan has directed all field formations across the country to collect the record of their hidden assets and income. Officials said that the FBR wanted to add almost 500,000 new taxpayers into the tax net.
The officials added that chief commissioners of both RTOs have constituted teams those have started to gather the data of non-filers. The further said that RTOs would get help of banking sectors and different ministries to trace the defaulters.
