Customs officials to attend 21st CLBC meeting in India on Jan. 27

LAHORE: The Customs Lahore officials will leave for India to attend 21st Customs Liaison Border Committee (CLBC) meeting which will be held in Amritsar, sources told Customs Today here.

The sources said that Chief Collector of Customs Rozi Khan Burki will lead the delegation consisting customs officials including Collector of Customs Mukarram Jah Ansari, Additional Collector Sumera Sheikh, Assistant Collector Sumeer Tarar and Deputy Collector Iram Sohail. The officials will leave for India on January 27 or 28 to attend  the committee meeting.

Earlier the 20th CLBC meeting was held at the Customs House Lahore which was also attended by Chief Collector of Customs Rozi Khan Burki, Collector of Customs Lahore Preventive Mukarram Jah Ansari, Additional Collector Jamil Nasir, Deputy Collector of Customs Iram Sohail and DC Nazima Salim from Pakistan Customs while Commissioner Captain Sanjay Gahlot, Additional Commissioner Nitin Saini, Deputy Commissioner Paramavtar Singh Gill, Assistant Commissioner Jasmeet Singh and Assistant Director Jasveer Khichar represented Indian side  in CLBC meeting.

According to Customs Officials the CLBC meeting provides the customs authorities of the both sides an opportunity to streamline things ahead of the high season besides train, bus and on-foot traffic issues are also discussed to speed up customs clearance.
