KARACHI: The Excise and Taxation Department has decided to introduce a new online system to check and verify whether a vehicle is tax paid or not. This system will also help check outstanding taxes against vehicles.
Sources told Customs Today that the Excise Department will introduce online system which will display all the details of a vehicle by just entering the vehicle number. He said before introducing online system, the Excise officials were asking the vehicle owners to produce their legal documents to check the tax status.
He said that the officials will use online devices to get all information about vehicles by entering vehicle numbers without asking or inquiring the vehicle owners.
He said the Excise and Taxation Department will introduce this online system before March 2016.
