LAHORE: Punjab Agriculture Minister Furrukh Javed has said that the Punjab government has not imposed duty on export of potato to facilitate exporters.
He said that Pakistan is producing good quality of potato and it has high demand in the world as compare to demand of Indian potato. He said that Punjab is exporting potato to Sir Lanka and Malaysia and is planning to start exporting to Russia this month.
Talking to Customs Today, Furrukh Javed said that Punjab will produce 0.3 million tonnes of potato this year which is 3.5 percent higher then previous year.
He said farmers could get proper return for their hard work and exporters will be facilitated by not imposing duty to boost potato exports.
