ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned the hearing of tax references involving officers of the Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) and Regional Tax Office (RTO).
A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Noor Ul Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah heard one sales tax and seven income tax cases.
The bench heard six income tax references carrying complaints about charging of tax by LTU Commissioner Inland Revenue against M/s Saba Power Company (Private) Limited and M/s Petrosin Gas Pakistan (Private) Limited. One income tax reference was filed by RTO commissioner of income tax against a citizen Muhammad Khalid. It also maintained a submission for recovering the evaded tax by challenging a departmental decision.
During the course of hearing, the court also heard arguments on a sales tax reference. It was filed by LTU collector of sales tax against M/s Hussain and company. The bench adjourned hearing of said cases till third week of February.
