ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized 10,260 kg hashish, 38,505 kg poppy seed and goods worth Rs 1.5 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
At least 339 cases have been registered and 59 people have been arrested in this regard. Five of the accused have been indicted. The Customs I&I seized smuggled goods worth millions of rupees. Cars, imported cloth, arms, wine, tyre tubes, spare parts, tea, diesel, petrol, cigarettes, electronics were the major items seized by the customs.
