Custms Court approves judicial remand of suspect involved in Rs 8m tax evasion

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved judicial remand of the accused and rejected his bail plea.

According to details, Fazal Hussain was allegedly involved in sales tax and income tax evasion. Intelligence sources of the Federal Board of Revenue Gujranwala dug out that Fazal made huge bank transactions but he never paid a single penny to the national kitty.  After confirmation of the sources of his income and his bank transactions, the Inland Revenue of Gujranwala arrested him and found him involved in tax evasion of Rs 8 million.

Earlier, the Federal Court had rejected his bail plea as well. Customs Court after hearing both parties on Friday issued 14 days judicial remand of Fazal Hussain and handed over him to jail authorities for further prosecutions.

On the other hand custosm court also heared 17 cases on Friday in which some tax evasion cases were also included. Court adjourned three cases of pre arrest bails for next week including Muhammad Arshad and Naeem Khan.
