Tax evasion: Customs Court rejects bail plea of director of Abdullah Sugar Mills

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has rejected pre-arrest bail pleas of two directors of Abdullah Sugar Mills in tax evasion case.

According to sources of Customs Today two directors of Abdullah Sugar Mills who were wanted in customs duty evasion case approached to Customs Court for pre arrest bail. Directors Zia Mustafa and Raza Mustafa are  involved in Rs 80 million tax evasion. Special Judge of the Customs Court Chaudary Ameer Muhammad Khan Khan heard their pre arrest bail plea and after hearing the lawyers arguments Customs Court rejected their plea.

Earlier Federal Board of Revenue had detected that Abdullah Sugar Mills is involved in evasion of customs duty on import of machinery from different countries. After investigation FBR intelligence had also raided many times at residence of owners of Abdullah Sugar Mills to arrest them but no one still came in custody since November 2015 when this evasion was detected.
