LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for two suspects involved in gold smuggling.
Sources told Customs Today that Muhammad Rizwan was arrested by Customs authorities at Allama Iqbal International Airport and recovered seven kilograms gold worth Rs 30 million from his possession. During the investigation, Rizwan revealed that two persons namely Rana Tahir and Humayon Akram were supporting him.
Customs authorities have registered a case against the two accused under section 2 (2), 16, 139, 156, (8), (20), 175 and 178 of Pakistan Customs Act 1969.
Customs court has summoned the two accused many time but they are still fled. Finally, the Customs Court issued the warrant on the application of Customs Investigation team which had filed a case against them.
