Customs Court seeks complete interim challan in tyre smuggling scam

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs taxation and Anti-Smuggling has asked the customs prosecutor to submit complete interim challan of the case in the next hearing.

Sources told Customs Today that three suspects, Abdul Rehman, Allah Ditta and Akbar Khan, were arrested in smuggling of a huge quantity of foreign made tyres. The Customs Intelligence recovered tyres from a warehouse in Badami Bagh area. They raided on an information and recovered the tyres of different vehicles that were smuggled from Afghanistan through Peshawar and FATA. The Customs Intelligence seized tyres and registered a case against the accused persons.

Now Chaudary Ameer Muhammad Khan Special Judge of the customs court has asked special prosecutor of Customs Intelligence to submit challan of the case in next hearing.

Earlier all three accused were in jail on judicial remand and then the court accepted their bail plea against surety bonds and cash guarantee too.
