LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has extended the judicial remand of a smuggler who was arrested by Chenab Rangers while making an attempt to smuggle Indian alcohol.
Sources told Customs Today that the Chenab Rangers arrested Yar Muhammad when he was making an attempt to smuggle Indian alcohol at Murad Key village Kasur. A mobile team of Rangers was on a routine patrolling when it noticed suspicious activity on international border. During the checking, one smuggler fled from the spot while another was arrested by the Rangers. At least 100 bottles of alcohol were recovered from the spot.
The Ranger’s team presented him before the Customs Court and got three days physical remand for investigation. After completion of investigations he was sent to jail on a judicial remand. Now the Customs Court has extended judicial remand of the accused for 14 days.
