Adjudication issues show cause to owner of non-duty paid vehicle

ISLAMABAD: Additional Collector Adjudication Rashid Habib has issued show a cause notice to the owner of the vehicle on behalf  of Customs Intelligence and Investigation authorities whose vehicle was nabbed in the parking aras of excise and taxation office located in Sector H-9 Islamabad.

Sources informed Customs Today that in their notice Customs authorities advised the owner to produce legal documents regarding possession of vehicle. Sources informed the “Applied For” was pasted instead of registeration number plate on the vehicle.

Customs  Intelligence authorities seized the vehicle and forwarded its chassis number and other equipments for foresenic test. The foresenic test shows that chassis are not tempered. But when customs authorities checked all the record of vehicle with sales record of auctioned vehicle they find nothing.

Customs authorities submitted a seizure report about vehicle to police stations and also certified that this vehicle is imported in Pakistan without any procedure. Collector Adjudication in notice warned the owner to produce legal documents regarding possession of vehicle failing which ex-patriate decision will be taken against him.
