Sialkot ASO seizes non-duty paid vehicles, goods worth Rs 6.5m

SIALKOT: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded three vehicles and other commodities worth millions of rupees. The ASO started crackdown against smugglers in Gujranwala division on the directions of Collector Customs Ahmad Reza.

Sources informed Customs Today that Assistant Collector ASO Fahad Bashir Chaudhary, along with his team, intercepted various vehicles on GT Road and seized three vehicles which include Pajero,Toyota Crown and Mehran which were plying on roads without payment of customs duty and token tax.

The market value of the vehicles is Rs 4 million. These vehicles were caught while heading towards Lahore from Rawalpindi.

During this crackdown ASO team checked many shops, trucks, buses, coaches and recovered imported cloths, Pine cigarettes, energy drinks from Qila Deedar Singh (Gujranwala), Gujranwala and other areas worth of Rs 2.5.million. Fahad Bashir said the ASO is performing duty honestly to curb smuggling.
