Appraisement West collects Rs 20.883 bn taxes, duties in February 2016

KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West has collected Rs 20.883 billion taxes and duties under various heads during February 2016.

According to statistics available with Customs Today, the Appraisement-West collected Rs 7,804 million under the head of customs duty, Rs 9,274 million under the head of sales tax, Rs 3,674 million as income tax and Rs 131 million under head of federal excise duty during February 2016.

Significantly, the Appraisement-West collected Rs 1,058 million on the last working day i.e. February 29, 2016 that included Rs 436 million under the head of customs duty; Rs 433 million under head of sales tax; Rs 179 million as income tax and Rs 10 million as federal excise duty. At all, the Appraisement West collected Rs 172,930 million taxes and duties since August 1 to February 29, 2016 that included Rs 63,731 million under head of customs duty; Rs 78,001 million as sales tax; Rs 29,865 million as income tax and Rs 1,333 million under head of federal excise duty.
