FBR teams start verification of charity, trust hospitals record

SIALKOT: Special teams of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have started conducting re-scrutiny and verification of the record of all the private charity and trust hospitals, which have been availing tax exemptions. The hospitals are located in Gujranwala division.

The senior FBR officials told Customs Today that the FBR teams are meeting the patients, their dependents and charity hospitals’ managements, besides keeping in view the social reputation of these charity hospitals as well. The FBR officials added that there are 250 trust and charity hospitals in Gujranwala division.

They said that FBR had information regarding the misuse of tax exemption by some of these hospitals, due to which the FBR teams have started re-checking the official records and re-verification of these hospitals, in this regard.

The officials added that the FBR teams has also started monitoring of the NGOs , which has been running these charity hospitals as well.
