KARACHI: The property tax section of the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has sealed three godowns and one factory due to tax evasion.
Senior officer of property tax section Mohammad Baksh Elahi informed Customs Today that one godown of flour and another of chemical were sealed in Gul Bakai area. He said that many notices were sent to the owners of these godowns to clear their outstanding dues but they always ignored the same.
He said that chemical company is defaulter of taxes from last three years. Now excise Sindh given them 25 days to deposit outstanding taxes. Mohammad Baksh Elahi said that Bhaw Ji Knitwear factory is also sealed because company is defaulter of Rs 3 lakh which is payable by company under the head of property tax.
