KARACHI: The federal government has levied regulatory duty on 400 imported items in order to reduce import bill and also banned imports of refrigerators, deep freezers, air conditioners and fans.
Sources told Customs Today that the government has decided to impose regulatory duty on imported items to boost local industries and discourage foreign goods in local markets.
It is pertinent to mention here that the authorities have imposed ban on second hand foreign origin electronic goods such as the used refrigerators, deep freezers, air conditioners and fans.
