Peshawar Customs, police seize smuggled items worth Rs 5m

KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Peshawar and Peshawar police, in a joint raid, have seized smuggled items worth over Rs 15 million.

Customs Intelligence director received credible information regarding the smuggling of items through two trucks, on which he formed a team under the supervision of Additional Director Ziaullah Shams.

The team comprising Deputy Director Ali Khan, Intelligence Officers Akmal Shahbaz, Murtaza, Liqat Khan and Anjum Inyatullah intercepted two trucks on Ring Road Peshawar and recovered tea, tyres, perfumes, LED TVs, 25 pieces of  DVD and generator oil.

The officials seized all items, as the drivers of the trucks could not prove the legal import of the items and also arrested the drivers.
