FBR forward list of 5000 tax defaulters to excise Punjab

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has forwarded a list of 5,000 tax defaulters to the Punjab Excise Department. The FBR also directed the authorities concerned to bar tax defaulters from sale and purchase of any vehicle.

Sources informed Customs Today that the FBR has also provided all the relevant information of tax defaulters to the Excise Department. The information consist of CNICs of tax defaulters and amounts of tax default.

The FBR has directed the Excise Department to take strict action against tax defaulters who are avoiding to pay taxes. Sources said that the government has already extended up to March 31, the deadline for submission of tax returns through Voluntary Tax Amnesty Scheme (VTAS). Sources said that after the passage of deadline strict action will be started against tax defaulters.
