Customs Adjudication concludes 37 seizure cases of Rs 49.356m in February‏

MULTAN: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication has concluded 37 seizure cases worth Rs 49.356 million during the month of February.

Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Farhat Ali decided as many as 18 cases of seizure filed by Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation in February. These cases were related to evasion of customs duty to the tune of Rs 9.252 million. Almost 34 fresh cases of seizure involving Rs 45.800 million were included for hearing in the month of February.

Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Fayaz Anwar have decided 16  different seizure cases involving Rs 26.734 million during the month of February. While Collector Raja Tahir Majeed has settled three various taxes evasion cases of Rs 13.370 million during the February.

All 37 cases were settled in favour of Pakistan Customs during the month of February. The Customs Adjudication collector added two new cases involving Rs 38.132 million for hearing in the month of February.

Almost 44 cases involving revenue of Rs  375.651 million are still pending in the Customs Adjudication in the month of March due to slow proceedings of the seizure cases and delay from respondents during pursue of their cases.
