Gujranwala FIA launches crackdown against human traffickers

SIALKOT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Gujranwala Region, has launched a crackdown against land route agents and human traffickers-cum-proclaimed offenders.

Gujranwala FIA Deputy Director Khalid Anees told Customs Today that the FIA has launched the crackdown following the strict directions of the Federal Interior Ministry.

He told that Sub-Inspector Mohsin Waheed Butt along with his team conducted raids in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin and nabbed Rashid Mehmood, Muhammad Farooq and Umer Hayat from Gujranwala, Qamar Kareemi from Lahore, Iqbal Insari from Kamokey, Raja Ahsan Nawaz from Rawalpindi, Malik Arshad from Narowal, Rafique Butt and Ghulam Rasool from Gujrat, Abdul Rauf from Mand Bahauddin and Tahir Gujjar from Sialkot.

The accused were involved in illegal business of sending people abroad, including Turkey, Italy, Muscat, France, German, UAE and other countries on fake visas and documents. FIA recovered fake visas, passports copies and documents from their possession.
