Hyderabad Customs earns Rs 11.8m through auction

HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate earned Rs 11.88 million through the auctions of seized Iranian diesel, cigarette and shampoo.

Hyderabad Customs Headquarters Deputy Collector Nafees Ahmed conducted auction along with Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Omar, Inspector Alloudeen Omar Khan, Inspector Abdul Rauf Qureshi, Inspector Saleem Ajmari and Hawaldar Muhammad Hussain.

The customs presented different lots comprising diesel, cigarette and shampoo, which were seized during different actions. THe diesel was auctioned for Rs 11.67 million, while cigarette and shampoo were sold for Rs 211,115.

Following the directions of Hyderabad Customs Collector Agha Shahid Majeed Khan, the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) conducted various raids under the supervision Additional Collector Omar Shafique to curb the smuggling in the region. The ASO confiscated high speed diesel, cigarettes assorted brands and shampoo.

The raiding team consisted of Deputy Superintendent Sikander Akbar Phanwar, Deputy Superintendent Anwar Ahmed Sheikh, Inspector Abdul Ghafar Shiekh, Inspector Khair Mohammad Pathan, Inspector Waqar Ahmed Baig, Inspector Shafi Mohammad Jamali, Inspector Syed Nazim Ali, Inspector Shakeel Khan, Inspector Mushtaq Ali Lakho, Sepoys Isa, Sadique Khaskheli, Usman and others participated in the raids.
