Appraisement-West seeks details of top 30 importers

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West has sought details of top 30 importers in terms of import value, quality and duty/taxes.

Dr Fareed Iqbal Qureshi, who is the caretaker collector of Appraisement-West, has summoned a meeting to discuss the top 30 importers of the collectorate and amount of duty/taxes involved in imports during July-March 2014-15 and July-March 2015-16.

In this regard, Deputy Collector Group-I Mahwish Shah, Deputy Collector Group-III, Mahmood ur Rehman Khattak, Deputy Collector Group-V Muhammad Shahzad Khan, Assistant Collector Group-VII Mariam Mehdi Raja, Deputy Collector Group-II Syed Babar Ali Shah, Deputy Collector Group IV Muhammad Aftab Rana, Assistant Collector Group-VI Adnan Rafiq, and Assistant Collector Group-VIII Asfandyar Khan will prepare slides of the required data and will brief the meeting to be held on April 9, 2016 at the Custom House.

These officers have been instructed to prepare slides containing information about decline in assessed value of major items, slides containing information about top 30 importers in terms of import value, quality, duty/taxes during the period July-March 2014-15 and July-March 2015-16.

“Please ensure preparation of all slides in light of the agenda items enumerated above. Special focus should be on slide pertaining to administrative measures as it is reflective of each officer’s performance”, says an office order available with Customs Today.
