Excise recovers Rs 3.5m from two factories involved in tax evasion

KARACHI: The Excise and Taxation Department has recovered Rs 3.5 million from Alhamra Chemicals and Ghafoor and Sons Textile Mills.

Sources informed Customs Today that both factories had been avoiding to pay tax for the last five years. The Excise Department issued them eight warning to clear their outstanding dues but they failed to pay the tax.

Now the Excise Department issued them notice and asked the management of these companies to clear pending dues with fine. After receiving these notices, both factories deposited their property tax dues.

Sources said that excise department is going to adopt strict policy against defaulters of tax and anyone who found involved in tax evasion will be dealt with iron hands.
