FST adjourns hearing of case filed by FBR employee until May 26

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Service Tribunal on Monday received comments of the Ministry of Finance on a case filed by an employee of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Ministry of Finance’s Joint Secretaries, Munir Ahmed and Iftikhar Ahmed, appeared before the bench comprising Rafique Shah and Syed Muhammad Hamid in order to submit ministry’s stance over the promotion matters filed by Muhammad Hanif.

The tribunal, after receiving the comments and following physical appearance of the officers, adjourned the hearing until May 26. Earlier, the tribunal had directed the ministry to submit its reply on the matter before the tribunal.  The appellant, Muhammad Hanif, had filed the petition against the FBR in which the Ministry of Finance was also made a party.

The tribunal was waiting for ministry’s comments in order to decide the fate of the case which were submitted on the day.

The bench also heard and adjourned three other cases related to FBR. Tariq Tanveer, M Ishaq and javed Latif had challenged FBR’s measure before the tribunal.
