Sialkot Excise collects Rs 1.30tr in nine months of FY 2015-16

SIALKOT: Excise and Taxation Department Gujranwala Division has collected Rs.1.30 trillion on account of property and other various taxes.

Sources informed Customs Today that FBR assigned target of  Rs 2.17 trillion for six districts Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal,Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat under the head of different taxes which includes property, professional, motor vehicle registration, token, excise and other taxes.

Director Excise And Taxation Department Rao Shakeelur Rehman constituted separate teams for collection of said taxes.These teams started campaign to collect tax from defaulters and use all resources while sealed various properties and impounded vehicles of defaulters whereas cancelled registrations of vehicles.

However excise teams also collected Rs 1.30 trillion during nine months of current financial years but the teams will face problems to collect balance amount Rs 8 million of assigned target. Director Shakeel said that the teams will must get target and teams has already been alert. He said that the properties of defaulters are sealing and department has tightened noose around the defaulters of vehicle token tax
