SIALKOT: The Pakistan Customs officials confiscated 275 cellular phones worth Rs 4 million at Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL), which were being smuggled into Pakistan by evading leviable duty/taxes.
Reportedly, a person named Iqbal Dastagir arrived at Sialkot airport by flight NL-796 of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from Sharjah who was intercepted by customs officials following credible information received through Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Chaudhry.
The officials checked his luggage and recovered 275 cell phones, which were non-customs paid. The customs officials confiscated the phones and arrested the accused after registering a case against him.
