Gujranwala Excise seals 127 properties, impounds 90 vehicles

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department, Gujranwala sealed 127 properties and impounded 90 token tax defaulter vehicles.

Gujranwala Excise Director Rao Shakeel-Ur-Rehman instructed all Excise and Taxation officers of six districts including Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat to constitute teams in order to recover taxes and toke tax fee from defaulters.

Following the instructions, the teams took stern actions in their respective areas and sealed as many as 127 properties on non-payment of property tax. In order to recover token tax, the teams established checkpoints on different roads and impounded 90 vehicles.

Sialkot Excise and Taxation Officer Muzzafar Qayyum told Customs Today that sealed properties and vehicles will be released after the payment of taxes by the defaulters.
