Sialkot ASO recovers smuggled cigarettes worth Rs 3.5m

SIALKOT: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) intercepted a Mazda truck on GT Road and recovered smuggled cigarettes worth R 3.5 million the other day.

Sources informed Customs Today that Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir deployed Inspector Sheikh Ikram on G TRoad with ASO officials to curb smuggling.

The ASO team searched various vehicles on the road and intercepted a truck and recovered 50 boxes of smuggled cigarettes which were packed in 25,000 cartons.The ASO team has impounded cigarettes and registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
