Deputy Collector Asma Hameed declares seizure of Nissan truck legal

FAISALABAD: Deputy Collector Adjudication Asma Hameed has issued Order-in-Original (OnO) in favor of anti-smuggling organization (ASO).

Sources informed Customs Today that an ASO team intercepted a Nissan truck bearing registration No. SBA-070 (Sib ) and asked the owner Muhammad Ashfaq son of Bashir Ahmed to produce documents showing the legal import of the vehicle but he remained failed to produce any relevant documents.

After his failure, the ASO team seized the vehicle and forward the case to the customs adjudication for further proceedings.

During hearing of case Khalid Ashraf Noor (inspector) appeared on behalf of ASO and reiterated the charges framed against the respondents. He stated that the chassis frame of seized vehicle is cut and welded as declared by FSL Laboratory Islamabad.  After hearing the case deputy collector Asma Hameed declared the seizure of Nissan truck as legal.
