FBR freezes bank accounts of two companies, recovers Rs 9.4m tax

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has recovered Rs 9.4 million tax after freezing bank accounts of two Karachi-based companies.

Sources of RTO-III said that M/s Moqeym Textile and M/s Anum Garments and Exports were involved in tax evasions. The FBR issued many notices to them for submission of tax but they failed to deposit their tax. Sources said that final notices were issued during the first week of March warning them if they will not deposit their tax until April 10 than department would take stern action against them.

Sources informed Customs Today that when they did not deposit their tax after receiving the final notices then the department ordered to freeze the bank account of both companies. After this action, the department recovered Rs 3.8 million from M/s Moqyem Textile and Rs 5.6 million from M/s Anum textile.
