Sialkot ASO impounds truck, smuggled items worth Rs 1m

SIALKOT: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) impounded a Mazda truck loaded with China origin smuggled items worth Rs 1 million during checking of vehicles near Kamoke Toll Plaza.

Reportedly, ASO incharge Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Choudhary deployed a team under the command of Inspector Sheikh Ikram at the toll plaza.

The team checked various vehicles. Meanwhile, it intercepted a Mazda truck which was going to Lahore from Rawalpindi. When the team checked the truck, it recovered mosquito coils, perfumes, clothes, garments and other items. The driver named Abdul Hayee was asked to show documents regarding the legal import of the items but he could not do the same.

Therefore, the ASO impounded the truck along with recovered items and sent the case to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
