Image system helps businessmen to prevent their goods from damages: Additional Collector Khwaja Khurram Naeem

ISLAMABAD: Additional Collector Air Freight Unit (AFU) Islamabad airport Khawaja Khurram Naeem has said that value automation system helps to speed-up process for AFU value assessment officers as well as for importers, this system can prevent for any mishap regarding valuation and wastage of time, valuation system become very simple because of this system.

Reply to a query the Additional Collector said that implementation of taxes is not under jurisdiction of AFU we are working as informant agency under the supervision of FBR.

He said images system helps the importer and exporters to prevent their goods by damages, it works as safe guard for their consignments, with help of image system business community can prevent their goods by all type of damages during their shifting form one place to other the Additional Collector explain.

With the help of WeBOC registration generated query goes to user’s mobile phone, in this way both of them the importer and clearing agents timely informed by the GD, it helps the importer to maximize the time risk, it also help the Custom department to avoid over crowding at premises of dry ports and other relevant departments by exporters and importers Khawaja said.

FBR and State Bank introduces e-form system, e-form system helps the Customs authorities to prevent by fake value entries, Customs has prepared a module in the WeBOC system to enable mandatory uploading of import-form i.e. I-Form for recording of the transaction between the importer and exporter and track outward remittances Khawaja said.

In answer to a question he said AFU gives additional time to facilitate the imports even some time we gives additional hours to check the import goods, there are multi checks applied on imports some time if doubt created, the department generated alerts, we can also prevent doubts with help of post clearing audit Khawaja explain.

To creating informative environment for general public, he said that in 2006- seven custom officials were on air a radio program where the Customs officials told general public especially overseas Pakistani that how they can prevent by miss handling.

Regarding data test examination, he said that with use of high technology machines the department made check on products, if some doubt created, this high Tec mechanism thoroughly examines the product the Additional Collector explains.

All of time we follow Karachi regarding value invoicing, Karachi is our standard , there at Karachi goods have huge variety and quantity most of the time we follow standers of Karachi valuation rolls the Khawaji said.

A little under invoicing complains came to know regarding China, some time rig invoicing issued by the China but we tried our level best to seized them in time, the main issue is Value the Additional Collector said.
