Customs to set up check-posts near general bus stands of main cities

SIALKOT: Additional Collector Abdul Waheed Abro has said that the government is planning to set up a Customs blockade near general bus stands of main cities of the country to curb smuggling.

Talking to Customs Today, Abro said that the Customs Department is using all resources to curb smuggling and they are getting fruitful results. He said Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Nisar Mohammad is taking keen interest in curbing smuggling and an operation is continuing in this regard.

He said the customs officials are also checking non customs paid vehicles and many vehicles are impounded due to non payment of customs duty. He said the government has given free hand to customs department to control smuggling and money laundering through airports and other public places.
